Who am I ?
Hi I'm Heather aka Mrs Bryson-Banks aka Bariatric Blogger. I'm 40, now married with two young boys, living in Somerset, England.
From 2008 - 2014 , we lived in the North of Sweden. I was running my husband's Dog Sledding and Adventure Business, and teaching English. It was in Sweden, where my weight loss journey began.
I'm a blogger, vlogger, columnist, writer, ex-burlesque performer, poet, activist, campaigner- and Gastric Bypass patient.
I had my full RNY Gastric Bypass, on 13th October 2013 at Lycksele Hospital, North Sweden. I'm now under the care of Taunton Musgrove Bariatric Team.
At my heaviest, I weighed almost 20 stone, and was a dress size 28/30 ( UK ) My BMI was 50.
On my surgery date I weighed 18st 8lb - 119kg and my BMI was 48. Clothes size 26/28 .
Last summer I got down to my lowest weight of 11st 11lb, and was in a size 14 clothes.
I just couldnt stay on rack however, and gradually let things slip. Since last autumn I have gained over a stone to become a size 16/18, and weigh 12st 10lb (BMI 36) So the journey is far from over!
I have just signed up for a 12 week - Weight Loss Challenge with Alun Stewart from Transition4u Personal training, in connection with Herbalife.
I've yo yo dieted for over 20 years, and just got heavier and more unhealthy. My bubbly personality just covered up my insecurities Eventually I'd have enough. See my journey here, by watching my video blogs from the beginning. Go to Archives, and start at August 2013 - or check out later blogs to see how I am doing now.

I have another website where you can read my blogs about other issues like parenting, and having a special needs kid - www.bryson-banks.weebly.com
Below is the video of me a few years ago on the Trisha show. I seemed pretty happy and confident, but that was just on the outside. I was self conscious, felt huge, unattractive, and was on a road to self destruct!
The before and after pics are 2010 at my heaviest, and 2016 at my lightest.
My Wedding
|
Thank you to all my lovely youtube and twitter followers, who have supported me from the start of my journey. And to new people, just beginning their journey. My loveöy partner Wayne has stood by me, literally through thick and thin. He asked me to marry him in 2007, but I was so big and unhappy I refused. Finally, I felt ready to become his wife. And I was so happy to not be a 'fat bride' - although I'm certainly no stick insect. Just finally happy with the way I look. And I hope it shows in these photos of our wedding in Shepton Mallet, and hand fasting at Glastonbury Abbey. Photos of the Handfasting are by KellyJPhotgraphy
